Analytical Chemist II

About This Role

Serve as a Lab Technician in the R&D Product Chemistry Group, supporting laboratory work including multi-step sample preparation, instrument operation, and maintenance. This role contributes to understanding the link between product chemistry and performance at a global R&D support group.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory work including multi-step sample preparation, instrument operation and instrument maintenance activities
• Perform sample preparation for trace analysis of impurities in raw material and finished product by methods including high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry
• Prepare data packages for interpretation by Senior Scientist
• Use the Scientific Method to increase performance in focused characterization area
• Maintain a clean working space and sophisticated bench-top laboratory technique(s)
• Support the routine maintenance of advanced characterization equipment
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing activities in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems
• Generate fit-for-purpose reports summarizing test results and conclusions
• Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Adhere to environmental health and safety (EHS) site rules and become active in one EHS sponsored committee

Requirements

• Associates degree in Chemistry, Physics, Math, Microbiology or Engineering
