The Airframe and Powerplant Inspector is responsible for performing routine inspections on airframe and powerplant repairs, ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards and proper documentation of all maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections on airframe and powerplant repairs, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Verify materials, processes, and certifications from sub-tier vendors.
- Ensure all repairs or modifications meet airworthiness standards as per airframe and powerplant license requirements.
- Perform inspections on weapons control systems, aircraft armament, bomb racks, launchers, and related aircraft systems.
- Complete all applicable paperwork and document inspection results in forms, logs, and electronic systems according to company and FAA standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
- Comply with safety and quality procedures, including EHSS, ESD and FOD requirements.
- Train and mentor other inspectors and perform related duties to comply with ISO AS9100, military, and customer specifications.
Requirements
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
- 6+ years' experience with aircraft structures and/or powerplant repairs and inspections
- Proficiency in reading and using technical documents to meet FAA airworthiness standards
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 years' experience with aircraft structures and/or powerplant repairs and inspections.
Nice to Have
- Basic computer skills
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system
