Advisor - Software Engineer

About This Role

Serve as a technical leader for FedEx Freight, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software programs for enhancements and new products. This role ensures the application of systems thinking principles and advises on modern architectures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure application of systems thinking principles, allowing team members to independently design, code, test, and deploy software
• Provide necessary documentation to support the Software Development Life Cycle
• Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging a diverse range of technology
• Advise in the application of modern architectures, principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes
• Lead the resolution of highly complex problems
• Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance application capabilities and overall system architecture

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience
• Five (5) years’ experience in information technology or engineering environment
• Expertise in programming languages
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, microservices, and cloud computing platforms
• Strong leadership, customer and people development skills
• Strong problem solving, project management and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience
• Five (5) years’ experience in information technology or engineering environment
