About This Role

This Advanced Practice Provider position offers primary and/or specialty nursing and medical care in a hospital setting. The role involves performing health assessments, developing diagnoses, and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, ensuring quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including acute care services.
  • Practice with a variety of specialty-based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult.
  • Practice in settings requiring complex monitoring, high-intensity nursing intervention, or continuous nursing vigilance.
  • Participate in quality monitoring through bi-annual review of records and treatment plans for patient outcomes.
  • Perform health assessments and physical exams, identify health and medical risk factors, and order/interpret tests.
  • Develop a diagnosis by analyzing and synthesizing collected data.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans independently and in collaboration with physicians, patients, and significant others.
  • Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with board certification, state law, and medical staff privileges.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority and hospital policy.
  • Develop patient education plans and participate in medical team rounds.
  • Perform admission history & physical, document progress notes, and complete discharge summaries.
  • Provide and request consultations and assist with discharge planning.
  • Serve as resource for staff/residents and clinical preceptor for APN students.

Requirements

  • Licensed as an RN in State of Ohio
  • National Certification as a nurse practitioner by nationally accredited organization
  • Current certificate of authority and certificate to prescribe (or eligible) by Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Current Health Care Provider BLS training
  • Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
