About This Role

Welcome and register patients to Texas Health Dallas, ensuring accurate demographic information and financial responsibilities are handled. Facilitate a seamless patient experience by verifying insurance, obtaining necessary consents, and educating patients on their financial obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and their families, putting them at ease and setting the tone for their visit
  • Accurately gather complete demographic information to ensure electronic health record integrity
  • Identify correct network coverage and obtain/validate healthcare benefits and/or pre-certification for applicable tests/procedures
  • Educate patients and/or families about applicable legal, ethical, and compliance documents
  • Ensure regulatory consents are signed by appropriate parties
  • Engage with patients in understanding their financial obligations based on the financial policy
  • Accurately prepare estimates to collect co-payments, self-pay deposits, and patient balances
  • Ensure all payor and government required elements are completed correctly
  • Maintain customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 Year of customer service experience
  • Ability to promptly assess requests using electronic and paper resource materials
  • Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Medical terminology
  • Epic
  • Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional listening, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional, pleasant and respectful telephone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a highly stressful and emotional environment
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of empathy and effectively communicate with patients and family members
  • Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of customer service experience; 2+ years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred

Nice to Have

  • 2 years of professional office/ healthcare experience
  • CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate
