About This Role

Lead an Accounts Receivable team, monitoring workflow and providing subject matter expertise and training to ensure accurate and timely processing of customer payments. Provide advanced support for complex payment issues and maintain compliance with policies and GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workflow and ensure team members record payments to customers’ accounts accurately and according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and training support for advanced concepts, procedures, complex customer payment issues and a broad array of system applications.
  • Support associates in resolving errors and out of balance conditions.
  • Provide escalation support to team members and advanced knowledge for inbound calls or inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform complex research, corrections and customer account analysis using information from numerous systems, applications, and banking institutions.
  • Assist management in monitoring the internal control environment (e.g., unresolved Cash On Account research or prevention, resolution of Out of Balance report, etc.).
  • Provide supplemental support to team members to achieve daily goals due to absence or excessive workload or system cut-off timetables.
  • Provide AR management with associate metrics based on error research, audit findings and compliance with procedures to ensure work quality.
  • Compile, validate, and organize documents required for legal or audit purposes.
  • Verify financial integrity relating to transfers of payments, deductions and write-offs across markets, regions and groups including complex transactional adjustments or corrections.
  • Ensure accurate recording of bad debt write-offs.
  • Ensure team members have an understanding and manage AR records in accordance with policies, procedures and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures).

Requirements

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a high-volume AR processing environment, or combination of degree in accounting/business field plus two years of experience
  • 1 year experience training and guiding associates or prior AR/business management experience
  • Advanced skills with Windows and Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Access
  • Strong training, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional customer service, issue resolution, judgment, and analytical skills
  • Ability to master a significant array of processes and procedures and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience and expertise in up to 25 AR systems, applications, and portals (e.g., Tandem, Dynamics, CSB)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a high-volume AR processing environment or a combination of a degree in an accounting or business-related field plus two years of experience. 1 year experience training and guiding associates or prior AR or business management experience.

Nice to Have

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related degree
  • Previous work experience at a Foodservice Distribution company in a finance role
  • Skills using Tableau and dashboards
