Accounting Manager

About This Role

Serve as the primary accounting partner for a client portfolio, ensuring meticulous financial reporting, GAAP adherence, and insightful analysis. Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage revenue cycle (order to cash)
• Oversee expense management process
• Lead or support payroll processing and accounting
• Responsible for monthly financial close, KPI measurement, and management/board reporting
• Execute client compliance and internal controls
• Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
• Own client-specific requirements like sales tax, covenant calculations, and sales commissions
• Lead and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, guiding best practices and career development
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• Experience successfully revamping accounting processes and technology
• Strong with complex revenue recognition (eg: ASC 606 for subscription revenue)
• Deep knowledge of complex payroll
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions
• Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills
• Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tool like Avalara
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, plus 2+ years of audit work as an auditor in a CPA firm, and experience as a lead accountant in rapidly growing firm(s)

Nice to Have

• Master’s in Accounting and/or CPA license
• Xero, Intacct & NetSuite experience
