Account Specialist

About This Role

As an Account Specialist at Vallen, you will be responsible for selling and expanding the organization's solutions, products, and services within assigned Integrated Supply accounts, focusing on achieving performance goals in sales, gross margin, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to explore, solicit, and obtain new sales opportunities within assigned accounts
• Build rapport with customers to understand needs and generate value-added propositions for new products, processes, and services
• Drive cost savings commitments and ensure goals are exceeded and captured in Vallen VPP and/or customers ERP system
• Design and implement strategic sales plans to develop assigned accounts to meet and/or exceed contractual obligations
• Lead and report on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) activities and commitments
• Collaborate and build relationships with vendor/supplier community to support solutions selling opportunities and product transitions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, wholesale distribution, industrial distribution, or manufacturing
• Demonstrated product and sales knowledge
• Strong ability to develop and cultivate customer relationships
• Strong communication, planning, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills
• Knowledge of product and solution-based sales life cycles and best-in-class processes
• Proficiency with MS-Office products (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain Mgt, Marketing, Finance, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of outside or inside experience in supply chain management, wholesale distribution, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a similarly applicable industry
