About This Role

This role involves generating sales and managing accounts within the life science, biotech, and healthcare sectors for a mechanical construction company. The Account Executive will develop strategic account plans, build client relationships, and oversee project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and Account Management for business opportunities in life science, Biotech and Healthcare sectors
  • Develop Strategic Account Plans to penetrate and grow life science and biotech markets
  • Network at industry events as appropriate
  • Build partnering relationships with owners, owner's reps, and consultants
  • Understand life science and biotech customer's business and demonstrate technical expertise to develop credibility
  • Develop sales strategies to maximize opportunities within life science and biotech industries
  • Facilitate the technical interface between customers and Hermanson's operations and engineering departments
  • Work with the engineering department to develop scope documents for estimating
  • Verify that customer design or modification requirements are met promptly and correctly
  • Lead in project interviews, ongoing project delivery, preconstruction, and Project Management Oversight.

Requirements

  • Expertise in preconstruction, construction management, and mechanical/plumbing estimating with a focus on Life Science and Biotech mechanical systems
  • 5+ years Sales/Customer experience
  • Experience expanding expertise and relationships in life science and biotech markets
  • Ability to analyze and perform pursue/no pursue and bid/no bid recommendations
  • Experience in evaluation, competitive environment assessment, value-based pricing, price to win analyses, and probability of winning
  • Proven track record of negotiation and closing high value contracts involving strategic business relationships
  • Contract negotiation with GC executives, Owners, Sr. PMs, & key personnel
  • Familiarity with Estimating, project management, engineering functions and practices
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to positively influence and persuade others
  • A record of achievement in selling across market segments and to GC Accounts
  • Disciplined, strategic thinker with a holistic view of business
  • Professional appearance

Qualifications

  • Four-year University degree, preferably in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of sales/customer experience, expert at preconstruction, construction management, and mechanical/plumbing estimating with a focus on Life Science and Biotech mechanical systems.
