The Access Services Coordinator assists the Supervisor and Manager with daily activities, leading staff, aiding in training, maintaining quality, and managing work volumes. This role also performs daily financial services tasks such as pre-registration and insurance verification.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of the team according to performance standard goals
- Assist in allocating and managing staff work functions in relation to work volume
- Deliver feedback to staff on performance and quality standards
- Initiate recommendations regarding process and efficiency improvements
- Perform daily financial services activities including pre-registration, point of service collections, insurance verification, workflow monitoring, and data collection and review
- Assist with project development and implementation
- Assist with in-service education related to various departmental functions and related computer systems
- Assist in monitoring registration accuracy and quality compliance
- Attend department related seminars and provide new and updated information to all staff
- Interact as a team member representing Access Services and serve on designated committees and attend meetings as directed
Requirements
- Ability to maintain effective communication with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of general insurance terminology (governmental and commercial payers)
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficient typing and keyboarding skills
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
- Associate's or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- 2 Years of Experience
