Lead and inspire youth in after-school programs, providing homework help, recreation, arts, and educational projects. This role involves creating a secure and engaging environment for students to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome students to the program at the end of their school day
- Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects
- Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities
- Create unique clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance
- Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics
- Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities
- Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- Good communication skills (with kids and parents)
- College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units OR passing an academic proficiency exam
- Negative TB test result
- Pass Live Scan background check
- Ability to reliably commute
Qualifications
- 48+ college credit units completed OR pass an academic proficiency exam
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation

- English-Spanish bilingual speaker
