Guide students through social-emotional learning, homework support, and enrichment activities, ensuring a safe and engaging after-school environment. Create unique clubs to foster student interests and spark confidence.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome students to the after-school program
- Organize and lead activities including homework help, recreation, arts and crafts, and educational projects
- Join in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities
- Create unique clubs for students, such as career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance
- Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols and monitoring student behavior
- Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities
- Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to diverse student needs
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation
- Good communication skills with kids and parents
- 48+ college credit units completed OR ability to pass an academic proficiency exam
- Ability to get a negative TB test
- Ability to pass a Live Scan background check
- Reliable commute
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
Nice to Have
- English-Spanish bilingual speaker
