Workers’ Compensation & Safety Manager

About This Role

This role oversees workers' compensation and safety programs across nursing home facilities to ensure a safe work environment, minimize injuries, and manage claims efficiently. It involves developing and implementing safety policies, conducting audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Administer the workers’ compensation program, including claims intake, investigation, reporting, and follow-up
• Coordinate with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and legal counsel to manage claims efficiently and control costs
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and industry standards
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all facilities
• Develop and deliver employee safety training, including infection control, lifting techniques, emergency preparedness, and equipment safety
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workplace safety and workers’ compensation regulations
• Prepare and submit required reports, such as OSHA logs and state workers’ compensation filings
• Develop and manage return-to-work programs for injured employees
• Analyze incident and claims data to identify trends, high-risk areas, and opportunities for improvement
• Partner with HR, operations, and nursing leadership to ensure alignment of safety and workers’ compensation programs

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation administration and/or occupational safety
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation laws, and best practices in workplace safety
• Experience managing claims, safety programs, and return-to-work initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation administration and/or occupational safety, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or nursing home settings
