This role involves developing and reviewing work packages, including estimates, instructions, and testing requirements, for operations, maintenance, and construction activities within a facility. The position provides multidisciplinary support for maintenance planning and scheduling using Integrated Work Management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and/or review work packages including time, material, and labor estimates
- Prepare written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and post maintenance testing requirements
- Implement and control operations, maintenance, construction, or modification of work activities
- Resolve work restraints and bring work packages to final closure
- Assure safety and security compliance and maintain required safety and security training
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and issuing equipment and/or system modification, corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages
- Adhere to industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning
- Assure all work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications
- Analyze time and material requirements for work activity (Planner 2)
- Track and expedite established priority of work packages (Planner 2)
Requirements
- Knowledge of and experience with work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance
- Ability to understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures
- Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work control and planning
- Skill in the preparation and presentation of reports
- Skill to conceptualize and communicate elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work planning activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. (Planner 2) or 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. (Planner 1)
- 2+ years related experience in work control, materials management, or mechanical maintenance, up to 5+ years for Work Control Planner 2
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the Laboratory's infrastructure and site planning policies, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with facility support equipment, such as HVAC systems, Compressors, Boilers, and Electrical Distribution systems
- Knowledgeable in tracking work activities from conception through completion, preferably in construction management and or facility management industries
- Active "Q" clearance
