About This Role

The Warden 4 is responsible for the overall operation and direction of the Northwest Correctional Complex, ensuring adherence to state and federal law, agency policies, and accreditation standards. This role involves managing facility security, inmate programs, and staff engagement to enhance public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility-wide adherence to all policies and procedures for safe and secure operation, including security operations, inmate movement and control, accountability, tool, key and armory control.
  • Ensure uninterrupted, around-the-clock accountability of all inmates within the facilities assigned custody/count.
  • Oversee the protocols for emergency operations using the Organizational Structure of the Incident Command System.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and accreditation standards and take appropriate corrective action for discrepancies.
  • Oversee and ensure all programmatic needs identified through each inmate's risk/needs assessment are appropriately addressed.
  • Ensure effective oversight to guarantee that staff identify and develop innovative job opportunities and programs that reduce inmate idleness and promote successful re-entry into society.
  • Monitor staff to promote increased engagement between staff and inmates to educate them about agency goals and facility processes.
  • Ensure daily availability by making regular rounds throughout the compound, fostering a culture of open communication where staff and inmates feel comfortable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Substantial and increasingly responsible management and administrative experience in adult correctional work, law enforcement, probation/parole, rehabilitative services, correctional intelligence, correctional compliance, or other related areas.
