About This Role

This role involves auditing, examining, and analyzing bank operations and information systems, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and developing corrective action plans. The specialist will often act as the examiner-in-charge for smaller to medium-sized IT operations within financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Audit, examine, or analyze bank operations and information systems in areas of information access, data communications, and end-user computing controls
  • Prepare written comments and conclusions and provide appropriate documentation to support findings related to IT operations
  • Act as Examiner-in-Charge (EiC) for financial institution data centers, including preplanning, scoping, and submitting documentation and comments
  • Audit, examine, or analyze bank operations in information security to determine risks and control weaknesses and develop corrective actions
  • Research and prepare written reports, scenarios, and communications to assist IT Cyber Security leadership with projects and exercises
  • Identify systemic issues posing serious risk, research solutions, and notify the FI IT Director of Examinations for guidance
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to various FI IT Specialists and offer peer feedback on their performance
  • Collaborate with other examiners to conduct service provider examinations for corporations providing core services to financial institutions
  • Stay informed on industry developments, risks, and threats and share relevant information with other IT Specialists for continued development

Requirements

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field AND 7+ years of regulatory examinations or IT auditing
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a non-Information Technology related field AND 10+ years of Information Technology related experience
  • Valid motor vehicle license
  • Successful completion of a criminal history fingerprint background check

Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field
  • 7+ years of regulatory examinations or IT auditing, or 10+ years of IT-related experience with a non-IT bachelor's degree

Certifications

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (Required) Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (Required) Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) (Required)
