The VP of Technology & Innovation will lead technology and architecture decisions for a rapidly growing B2B SaaS company specializing in fleet management technology, empowering safety and operations teams. This role involves developing and implementing IT strategies, managing engineering and QA teams, and overseeing enterprise software architecture and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product leadership to assess optimal technology and architecture decisions
- Develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies aligned with business objectives
- Help build and scale multiple software engineering and QA teams
- Mentor and develop team members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
- Manage the software engineering department's budget, resource allocation, and project prioritization
- Provide technical guidance and direction for the engineering teams
- Drive the use of AI tools across Engineering & QA teams
- Facilitate technical debates around design options and steer teams to solutions
- Develop and manage enterprise software application architecture and infrastructure
- Implement and maintain critical IT systems, including application system security and disaster recovery
Requirements
- Extensive experience leveraging Microsoft Azure and AWS for enterprise SaaS application hosting
- Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 Administration and Security Best Practices
- Experience with building enterprise-grade stream-processing platforms leveraging modern technologies like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon Kinesis, or Azure Eventhubs
- Experience managing software engineering organizations (web, mobile, QA)
- Responsibility for cybersecurity of a software company with a cloud-hosted solution (SOC 2 compliance)
- Experience managing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans of an IoT platform
- Knowledge of best practices and experience with building B2B Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products
- Strong knowledge and extensive experience with enterprise software architecture design
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of IT leadership experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Database management
- Telematics, Video Telematics and/or fleet technology experience
- Hardware product experience
