Video Monitoring Technician

About This Role

This role involves continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients using video monitoring software, verbally redirecting patients from engaging in at-risk behaviors, and summoning nursing staff for assistance to ensure patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients
• Verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors using a digital 2-way audio device
• Summon nursing staff if the patient requires assistance via communication device or STAT Alert Alarm
• Maintain visual observation at all times
• Demonstrate understanding and proficiency in using Video Monitoring (VM) software
• Participate in hand-off of pertinent patient information and behavior upon arrival and completion of shift
• Assure patient environment safety and seek assistance for removal of potential hazards
• Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, following safety rules and participating in department safety programs
• Maintain required documentation

Requirements

• Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language
• Computer proficiency
• Ability to maintain variable work schedule (evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, travel)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED
