Vendor Relations Manager

About This Role

This role is responsible for managing vendor relations and project outsourcing for an AI research labs connector company. It involves coordinating prototype workflows, managing external manufacturing partnerships, and ensuring quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute work assignments across Vendor Management & Project Outsourcing and Work Management & Fulfillment
• Coordinate prototype project workflows and ensure timely customer fulfillment
• Manage external manufacturing partnerships and maintain quality standards for CNC and 3D Printing timelines
• Process purchase orders and track order status for outsourced prototype work
• Inspect vendor deliveries against technical specifications using measurement tools like calipers and micrometers
• Update vendor tracking systems and coordinate shipping logistics for outsourced work

Requirements

• 1-2 years in manufacturing operations, prototype shops, or supply chain coordination
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T callouts
• Proficiency with basic measurement tools for quality inspection
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects
• Clear written and verbal communication for vendor coordination
• Comfortable with order management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a shop floor environment and lift packages up to 50 lbs

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in manufacturing operations, prototype shops, or supply chain coordination.

Nice to Have

• Experience in CNC machining or prototype manufacturing
• Knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing terminology
• Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and post-processing techniques
• Understanding of shipping considerations for precision parts
• Experience with ERP or job tracking software
