University Recruiter, Associate

About This Role

MITRE is seeking a University Recruiter, Associate to manage the full recruitment lifecycle for internships, fellowships, and early-career roles. This role focuses on attracting top student talent from universities, particularly in AI, Machine Learning, data analytics, and computer science fields.

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit candidates for internships, fellowships, and early-career full-time roles, managing the full-cycle recruitment process.
• Source, screen, and submit qualified candidates to the business.
• Build trusted partnerships with hiring managers, providing data-driven guidance on talent availability, recruitment timelines, and sourcing strategies.
• Serve as a point of contact for campus engagement, including career fairs, recruiting events, and virtual info sessions.
• Plan and execute engaging events on campus to attract students to MITRE.
• Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through timely communication, transparency, and a high-touch, personalized recruiting approach.
• Reach out to referrals in a warm, professional manner upon receiving the resume.
• Serve as a MITRE Brand Ambassador internally and externally, representing the organization’s mission and values.
• Create formal offers in Workday system and negotiate final offers as needed.
• Engage in on-campus events, including career fairs, to build relationships and convert prospective candidates into applicants.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 months + of campus recruiting experience.
• Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
• Experience with ATS and HCM systems, preference for Workday experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%; requires a minimum of two days per week on-site.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 months + of campus recruiting experience.

Nice to Have

• Professional services, technology, and/or government contractor industry experience.
• Strong grasp of emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science.
• Builds trust and rapport across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal awareness and relationship-building skills.
