This role involves overseeing high-quality nursing care, managing nursing associates, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies within an assigned unit. The Unit Manager acts as a clinical leader, focusing on resident-centered care plans and wound care management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate nursing associates to ensure efficient and effective resident care
- Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans, with a focus on wound care management and resident education
- Monitor and maintain compliance with nursing standards, healthcare regulations, and organizational policies
- Provide direct resident care as needed, including administering medications, treatments, and wound care procedures
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Conduct associate training, performance evaluations, and support professional development initiatives
- Manage documentation and reporting to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in resident records
Requirements
- Current and valid Nursing License (LPN or RN) in the state of Indiana
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication with residents and associates
- Ability to provide resident education tailored to individual needs
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage unit operations
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a supervisory or unit management role within a healthcare setting
- Experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation facilities
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
