Dietary Aide

About This Role

The Dietary Aide supports the nutritional and dietary needs of residents in a senior living and skilled nursing facility by assisting with meal preparation and serving, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with the dietary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed dietary plans and facility standards
• Follow written and oral instructions carefully to ensure accuracy in meal delivery and portion control
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing staff, and other team members to meet the nutritional needs of residents
• Support residents during mealtimes by providing assistance as needed, demonstrating patience and respect

Requirements

• Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions accurately
• Demonstrated patience and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with residents
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Nice to Have

• Certification in food handling or dietary aide training
• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare environment
• Understanding special dietary needs related to senior health conditions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Additional training in resident care or nutrition
