This role involves collaborating with nursing leadership to implement and evaluate nursing care standards, develop and conduct educational programs for nursing staff, and serve as a clinical resource in the Med/Surg unit.
Responsibilities
- Integrates UnityPoint Health Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance in care delivery
- Collaborates in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of evidenced based practice and policies/procedures
- Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical orientation for nursing staff
- Supports clinical preceptor for effective clinical education of staff
- Assesses educational needs of staff and identifies learning opportunities
- Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of in services and continuing education offerings
- Serves as a resource to clinical staff in specific area of clinical expertise
- Consults with nursing leadership regarding clinical competence, equipment, and care delivery systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of experience in relevant clinical area
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtained within 3 months)
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds
- Fluent English (writes, reads, comprehends, speaks)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Customer/patient focused
- Critical thinking skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. BSN Preferred
- Two years of experience in relevant clinical area required. Minimum of five years Med-Surg experience preferred.
