Undergraduate Academic Advisor

About This Role

The Undergraduate Academic Advisor delivers comprehensive advisement to support student success, connect learners to resources, and strengthen overall College initiatives. This role involves direct student interaction, policy interpretation, workshop participation, and collaboration with departments.

Responsibilities

• Offer individualized guidance supporting academic decision-making, goal setting, and timely degree completion
• Help students interpret university processes, resolve concerns, and understand academic options and support services
• Participate in planning and facilitating advisement workshops, information sessions, and orientation programming
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to streamline communication and updates affecting student pathways
• Engage in departmental meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development to remain current on policies, programs, and student-success initiatives

Requirements

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field
• Equivalent to one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level
• Demonstrated understanding of degree structures, general education patterns, academic policies, and institutional regulations

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field
• Equivalent to one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for the required experience.
