About This Role

The Ultrasound Technologist performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the general direction of a physician and department supervisor. This role specializes in Cardiac, Vascular, or General areas to diagnose, treat, and prevent various disease processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols and care standards
  • Operate a variety of sophisticated ultrasonic imaging units and reading/reporting systems
  • Review images for identification, technique, and completeness according to governing body standards
  • Function as a role model and professional resource to patients, physicians, and peers
  • Provide training to new department staff members and sonography students
  • Perform various ultrasonic examinations, including invasive techniques specific to modality
  • Actively participate and cooperate in the accreditation and re-accreditation application process
  • Perform other duties as requested, including checking equipment and maintaining the lab
  • Mentor Ultrasound Students from CAAHEP programs, teaching departmental protocols and equipment operation

Requirements

  • Working-level knowledge of the English language
  • Minimum one-year clinical experience in respective department
  • Proficiency in operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment
  • Ability to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days

Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year clinical experience in the respective departmental required.
