Ultrasound Technologist

About This Role

Perform a variety of technical ultrasound procedures, ensuring proper patient care in accordance with departmental and hospital policies, with potential responsibilities for supervision or instruction.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of technical ultrasound procedures
• Ensure proper care of patients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures
• Assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist
• Maintain Massachusetts Diagnostic Radiography License and Registration if currently employed and possessing
• Proficiently perform Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical studies, dvt studies of arms and legs, and obtain images using portable equipment
• Familiarize with sterile techniques and set up of sterile trays
• Move and lift patients, equipment, and supplies on a regular basis
• Function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment
• Use independent judgment and ingenuity to apply appropriate skills for facilitating a diagnosis

Requirements

• Completed approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program
• Must obtain registry from ARDMS or ARRT within 2 years of employment
• Registered Sonographer through ARRT or ARDMS is required
• CPR is required
• Proficient in Abdominal, Pelvic, and Obstetrical studies, dvt studies of arms and legs, and obtaining images using portable equipment
• Familiar with sterile technique and set up of sterile trays

Qualifications

• Approved Diagnostic Sonography Technology Program
• Three years experience as Ultrasonographer preferred. Entry level position.

Nice to Have

• Three years experience as Ultrasonographer
• Additional registration and state license as a diagnostic technologist
