The Urgent Care Technician at Children's Wisconsin is responsible for providing exceptional patient care within urgent care settings, performing CNA duties such as rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with procedures. This role ensures confidentiality and maintains a clean environment to support clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Children's Wisconsin and Urgent Care policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and ensure patient confidentiality
- Provide exceptional care to patients and families
- Perform CNA duties within the scope of professional practice, maintaining urgent care competencies
- Complete rooming process and prepare patients for provider visits
- Obtain vital signs (height, weight, manual heart rate, respiratory rate, BP, etc.)
- Collect specimens (excluding swabbing or catheterizing) and run point of care tests
- Assist with procedures and perform tasks like splinting as directed by the provider
- Alert provider or Registered Nurse (RN) of any patient needing immediate assistance
- Complete accurate patient registration, including MyChart activation
- Manage assigned work queues to ensure accuracy and completion
- Utilize scheduling applications for appointments and cancellations
- Maintain a clean and organized environment by stocking supplies and disinfecting equipment
- Attend staff meetings and in-services, staying informed on communication affecting patient care and clinic operations
- Travel to any Urgent Care location as required
Requirements
- High School graduate, GED, or HSED required
- Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants/Home Health Aides
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
Qualifications
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
