About This Role

Support ambulatory specialty clinics as a float nurse, primarily handling phone triage and MyChart messages, with minimal face-to-face patient care. This role provides flexible scheduling based on availability and clinic needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support ambulatory specialty clinics as a float nurse
  • Perform phone triage for patients
  • Manage MyChart messages
  • Provide minimal face-to-face patient care in clinic when needed
  • Receive training in various ambulatory specialties including ENT, Dermatology, Asthma and Allergy, Pulmonary, Cardiology Sedates, Orthopedics, Pain and Headache, Craniofacial/Plastics, Diabetes/Endocrine, Fetal Concerns/Genetics, Neuro/Rehab, Renal, Rheumatology, Urology, and Adolescent Medicine

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • 2+ years Licensed nursing experience
  • Proficient pediatric assessment skills, utilizing a developmental approach
  • Ability to work with patients who have intellectual and physical disabilities
  • Proficiency with the use of computers and an electronic medical record
  • Independent judgment and analytical ability to problem solve, make decisions and formulate reports
  • Effective and collaborative interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in active listening and therapeutic communication
  • Critical reasoning and astute clinical judgment

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • 2+ years of licensed nursing experience and 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 2+ years Pediatric nursing experience
  • Experience managing patients with chronic and complex family and health needs

Certifications

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council (Required)
