Truck Driving Instructor

About This Role

Instruct a full range of truck driving courses for adult education students in a part-time, adjunct capacity. Responsibilities include curriculum development, using technology, and departmental participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in a full range of truck driving courses
• Develop and revise curriculum
• Maintain subject matter currency
• Use computer and multimedia technology in teaching
• Participate in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities
• Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues
• Work with students spanning a wide range of skills and goals
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Assess student learning outcomes
• Explore new technologies benefiting the program

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND two years of occupational experience related to the subject taught
• OR Associate degree AND six years of occupational experience related to the subject taught
• OR Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; AND two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught OR Associate degree; AND six years of occupational experience OR a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential OR equivalent
• 2+ years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught (with Bachelor's degree) OR 6+ years with Associate degree
