About This Role

As a CDL-A Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and timely delivering food and related products to customers on assigned local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes, adhering to DOT regulations. This role involves performing safety checks, maintaining accurate paperwork, and interacting professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company standards.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies, immediately reporting all safety hazards.
  • Perform count checks of items, check customer invoices, and complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route delivery schedule, unloading products into designated storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, verify delivery with customers, obtain proper signatures, and collect money where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are always locked and/or secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork at the driver check-in.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A
  • 12+ months Tractor/trailer experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Ability to pass a road test
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a valid DOT Health Card
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product (10-90 pounds)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 12+ months Tractor/trailer experience
