Truck Driver - Class A

About This Role

The Truck Driver - Class A (Nights) is responsible for safely driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on various routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products to customers. This role involves communicating with customers and ensuring timely, safe deliveries while complying with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies, immediately reporting any safety hazards.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight, perform count checks, and complete all required paperwork accurately.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule, unloading products into designated storage areas.
• Perform damage control checks, scan items, verify delivery with customers, obtain signatures, and collect payments when required.
• Load customer returns onto the trailer, secure trailer doors, and ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always locked and secured.
• Complete daily record of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, keeping trailers clear and clean as required.
• At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Unload damaged goods and customer returns in the driver check-in area and complete necessary paperwork.

Requirements

• 6+ months commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL-A
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one
• Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight (10-90 pounds) throughout shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months commercial driving experience
