The Truck Driver is responsible for safely and timely delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products to customers. This role involves operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on various routes, adhering to DOT regulations, and professionally interacting with customers and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks on tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company standards.
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight and perform count checks against customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules.
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
- Perform damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removing orders if needed.
- Verify delivery with customers, obtain signatures, and collect payments when required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured.
- Complete daily record of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area.
Requirements
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift (10-90 pounds)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
- 6+ months of Tractor/Trailer driving experience is listed, but the seniority is 'Entry Level'. I'll put 0 for 'Entry Level' as stated in the instructions.
