About This Role

The Traveling Field Inspector oversees and documents daily site activities for remediation and emergency response projects, including collecting soil and groundwater samples and air monitoring data. This role assists the Field Project Manager/Field Supervisor in project completion, serving as a steppingstone for career growth within the Remediation team.

Responsibilities

  • Document site activities including cost tracking, worksheets, waste shipping logs, and health and safety documentation via laptop or mobile device
  • Work in the field with hands-on labor alongside the crew and Project Manager/Field Service Supervisor
  • Travel to different project locations including Wastewater Treatment plants and soil remediation sites
  • Read and understand project documents and contracts
  • Learn to calibrate air monitoring meters and associated Health & Safety equipment
  • Assist in project financial tracking and various project administrative functions, including report generation
  • Order and receive supplies for projects
  • Potentially operate some heavy equipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or engineering
  • Commitment to safety
  • Willingness to do manual labor and work outside in all weather, utilizing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
  • Valid Driver's License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Professional level written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or engineering

  • Civil Engineering experience
  • Construction experience
  • Survey experience
