About This Role

Join Clean Harbors as a Field Service Technician II in LaPorte, TX, to perform hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous material handling, contributing to a safer environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety by following policies and processes and acting safely
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects
  • Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools
  • Properly wear a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection
  • Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Work in atmospheres with potential exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some hazardous, toxic, or corrosive
  • Work at elevations including from ladders and scaffolding
  • Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into/out of trucks, tanks, and various containers
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
  • Complete associated paperwork, such as worksheets, vehicle inspections, equipment inspections and permits
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Observe all corporate operating guidelines, procedures, and company environmental health and safety operating guidelines

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities
  • Agreeing to be on-call for emergency response on a rotating basis
  • Previous relevant labor experience
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical
  • Meet facial hair standards per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard
