Monitor patients' nutritional needs, provide education on food/drug interactions, and consult with physicians to ensure appropriate diet modifications. This role involves assessing nutritional status, maintaining records, and educating patients and families on dietary requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients for and provide education on food/drug interactions
- Record food and drug interactions in the education section
- Consult with physicians regarding appropriate diet modification
- Screen and assess patients in an accurate and timely manner based on levels of care
- Determine patients' nutritional needs and status and provide follow-up care
- Interview patients and/or their families to obtain history of food habits and preferences
- Interpret pertinent laboratory, physical and social data in the medical record, as it applies to nutrition care
- Provide nutrition education and record patient's diet and diet instructions and the patient's understanding of the diet in the education section
- Modify patient menus as needed
Requirements
- New York State Registered Dietitian License
- BLS certification
- Minimal one (1) year of experience
Qualifications
- Minimal one (1) year of experience
Nice to Have
- Two (2) years of experience
