Travel Nurse RN - CTICU - Cardiothoracic Intensive Care

Join American Traveler as a Travel Nurse RN in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) in Charlotte, NC. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients within a teaching hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed Cardiothoracic ICU at a large teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma Designation
• Primarily care for cardiac surgery cases, ECMO, OHT, LVAD/RVAD, and Impella device patients
• Maintain an average daily census of 11 patients with a 1:2 RN-to-patient ratio
• Work night shifts (7:00 PM) every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
• Work 75% of scheduled holidays
• Float to adult critical care units as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation
• Operate advanced equipment including ECMO, IABP, RVAD, LVAD, Impella, Philips and Edwards monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
• Present on patients per shift at designated times (1500 and 2030)

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a same-level CTICU
• Epic EMR experience
• Proven proficiency caring for high-acuity cardiac surgery patients and operating devices such as ECMO, Impella, and IABP
• Ability to present on patients per shift at designated times
