Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse

About This Role

Join as a Travel Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, providing high-acuity care to adult and pediatric trauma patients at a Level I Trauma Center in Sacramento.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center with both adult and pediatric patients
• Care for high-acuity cases including trauma, homeless, psychiatric, sepsis, and stroke
• Manage patient populations with high volumes of pediatrics (1000 visits/month, 18-20% pediatric admissions)
• Accept assignments in OBS Holding, MS Tele Psych Holding, and care for hallway patients
• Utilize special procedures such as fast-track rapid care, nurse protocols, and rapid care assessments
• Care for diverse patient populations including trauma, psychiatric, and high-acuity medical cases
• Use Cerner EMR for documentation
• Participate in initial orientation and receive support as appropriate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• TNCC certification
• At least 1 year of acute care ER experience
• Level I Trauma Center experience within the last 2 years
• Cerner EMR experience

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of acute care ER experience, with Level I Trauma Center experience within the last 2 years. First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of ER experience.
