About This Role

The Travel Nurse Clinical Instructor facilitates on-ground education for nursing students across the United States. This role involves teaching and evaluating learners in nursing programs while adhering to program and facility expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates learning at supervised on-ground focused education (SOFE) sites, including clinical, simulation, or skills labs across the United States
  • Responsible for teaching and evaluating learners in Practical Nursing, Baccalaureate, and Master's Degree Nursing Programs
  • Monitors, engages, and maintains open communication with learners regarding attendance, performance, and comprehension
  • Adheres to and holds learners accountable for partner facilities' expectations
  • Attends nursing faculty meetings, participates in committees, and engages in shared decision-making
  • May be assigned to various modalities, including experiential, didactic, evaluations, and NCLEX coaching
  • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time to various locations across the US during clinical rotations
  • Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license from state of residence
  • Ability to obtain RN and NP licensure in any jurisdiction required by the College, including a valid multi-state license
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential or commitment to obtain within one year
  • Maintains current knowledge in multiple areas of nursing practice
  • Two (2) years of experience in clinical nursing within the past five (5) years
  • Maintains immunizations and certification records as required by accreditation, facility, or state board of nursing
  • Proficiency in modern technology platforms and ability to quickly adapt to various software

Qualifications

  • Earned Graduate degree with a major in nursing from an accredited institution
  • 0-1 year of relevant experience, 2 years of clinical nursing experience within the past 5 years

Nice to Have

  • Two (2) years of experience supervising clinical education activities
  • One (1) year of experience in delivery of Concept-Based Nursing Education
  • One (1) year of distance education experience
  • Familiarity with learning management software, Canvas preferred
