This role is for an experienced RN Nurse Manager to oversee Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatrics departments in a hospital setting. The manager will lead daily operations, ensure patient care quality, and manage staffing and budget for critical neonatal and pediatric care areas.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, patient care quality, staffing, hiring, scheduling, and budget for critical neonatal and pediatric care areas
- Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Develop policy, ensure compliance, and foster a positive environment for critically ill pediatric patients and their families
- Handle labor relations including collective bargaining and staff discipline
- Utilize CCH records systems to execute management responsibilities
- Complete full recredentialing and orientation if a returning candidate
- Complete lab work within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license in Illinois
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of five years of NICU nursing experience
- At least two years of nursing supervisory or charge nurse experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of five years of NICU nursing experience and at least two years of nursing supervisory or charge nurse experience
