Transporter

About This Role

Transport patients to and from various clinical areas within the WellSpan Health system, ensuring their safety and comfort. This role also involves assisting with patient transfers and handling dispatch duties to coordinate transports.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary, and support department areas as directed
• Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics
• Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
• Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• Participate in educational programs and inservice meetings
• Provide outstanding service to all customers, foster teamwork, and practice fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation
• Perform dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays, and maintaining appropriate documentation

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than 1 year relevant experience
• Heartsaver CPR/AED certification upon hire
