About This Role

The Transportation Engineer (Civil) performs professional engineering work in construction administration, reviewing contractor work, monitoring progress, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and preparing change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional engineering work in either a field or office setting.
  • Administer construction contracts.
  • Review contractor work in accordance with the Construction Manual.
  • Review progress of work to assure compliance with contract documents.
  • Inspect finished products prior to acceptance.
  • Assure appropriate measurement and payments are made.
  • Complete all project documentation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Pro-actively review contract documents to anticipate, identify, and/or prepare any change orders needed to resolve conflicts and/or recommend improvements.
  • Participate in a mandatory 24-33 month rotation assignment through diverse project delivery functional units.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for Transportation Engineer (Civil) exam
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
  • Ability to commute to headquartered location as needed
