This role involves conducting skills assessments, instructing, and certifying new and incumbent employees in various pipe welding processes. The training representative will also instruct registered apprentices in associated academic classes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct skills assessments of applicants
- Instruct and certify newly hired represented employees
- Instruct registered apprentices in associated academic classes
- Instruct and certify incumbent employees on various welding processes
Requirements
- 3 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 1 year of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Must be willing to work any shift assigned
- Must be a currently active Ingalls Shipbuilding employee
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 3 years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 1 year of relevant professional experience with Master's Degree. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.
Nice to Have
- Proven ability to train employees to obtain certification in a craft skill within established timelines
- Familiar with work policies and procedures for purposes of maintaining compliance requirements
- Ability to work under limited supervision, with little to no instructions needed on routine work
- Previous experience as a craft technical facilitator, instructor, or OJT role
- Familiar with company reporting systems (i.e. timekeeping, command media, Outlook, etc)
