This role involves performing traffic control duties to maintain safe work zones by monitoring warning devices and communicating with the public and co-workers. This is a full-time seasonal position, offering DOT certification and potential for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Perform traffic control duties under the direction of a Supervisor
- Maintain safe work zones by monitoring signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Provide positive communication with the traveling public to relay traffic signals
- Provide positive communication with co-workers to relay traffic signals
- Listen and take direction from others
- Help train less experienced employees
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Reliable transportation
- Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to remain attentive to traffic conditions and other factors affecting safety and production
- Ability to be a team player
