Supervise test technicians and manage the design, maintenance, and enhancement of laboratories and equipment for testing products in the Data Center team. This role involves scheduling lab priorities and supporting the North American Data Center market.
Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory technicians and maintain testing schedule
- Implement engineering principles to achieve and maintain customer requested test conditions for test articles
- Develop specialized skills unique to specific test equipment to understand its operation
- Work with manufacturing engineering to analyze infrastructure capabilities versus test equipment needs
- Troubleshoot test equipment, request quotes, justify repairs, and implement and document repairs
- Maintain the test schedule for the facility, determining test performance times and required durations
- Coordinate support for conducting customer witness tests
- Generate and maintain test equipment preventive maintenance documentation
- Maintain test equipment for efficient use of utilities with manufacturing engineering and maintenance support
- Research, justify, and implement new products and technology in test laboratories
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in test or validation engineering (preferably in HVAC, fluid, automotive, refrigeration, or industrial equipment production)
- Working knowledge of NI LabVIEW, Rockwell Control Logix or similar DAQ/PLC programming
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical or electrical preferred
- 5+ years of experience in test or validation engineering, preferably in HVAC, fluid, automotive, refrigeration, or industrial equipment production.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with instrumentation (temperature/pressure/flow) and control wiring
