This role involves attaining sales goals within a designated territory by increasing sales in current accounts and establishing new ones. The individual will serve as a product expert, educating surgeons and staff on the proper use of medical products and providing on-site technical support.
Responsibilities
- Attain sales goals established by the Company within the designated territory and budget
- Increase sales of current accounts and establish new accounts
- Position self as a product expert
- Present, educate, and provide in-services on the process/procedure of properly using the Company’s products to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals
- Provide on-site technical support during procedures to ensure proper use of the products
- Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on the use of the products
- Ensure surgeons and staff have the most current product information available
- Ensure effective utilization of the products by all trained surgeons within territory
- Maintain thorough knowledge and capabilities of the Company’s products, channels and methods of distribution
- Meet territory sales and profitability goals
- Develop new prospects and establish customers
- Inform customers of new and current products, backorders, general order status, current pricing structure, company policy changes, and forecasts for new needs
- Achieve prompt, mutually satisfactory solution to customers’ complaints
- Attend customers’ meetings and tradeshows
- Establish Davol products as the standard for bid accounts through surgeon specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years general sales experience
- Strong interpersonal, oral, communication, organizational and planning skills
- Thorough understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales
- Understanding of the product buyer concept
- Understanding of contract administration
- Understanding of principles of group purchasing to include research, formulating and recommend proposal
- Ability to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements (drug screenings, etc.)
- Ability to travel at least 20%
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 3 years general sales experience
Nice to Have
- Medical sales experience
- Procedure knowledge adequate to illustrate convincingly the benefits of the Company’s products
- Basic anatomy knowledge
- Ability to discuss various products in relation to the human body
- Familiarity with medical and surgical terminology
