Tenure Track Position - Biomechanics

About This Role

This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in biomechanics at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, focusing on undergraduate teaching and research. The role involves contributing to the Kinesiology program and expanding its teaching and research in biomechanics.

Responsibilities

• Teach upper-division core curriculum courses in the Kinesiology Program, including Biomechanics, Motor Control, and Motor Learning and Development
• Pursue a systematic program of research and scholarship
• Participate in scholarly practices such as peer-reviewed research, professional consulting, conference presentations, and grant development
• Engage in curricular improvement
• Participate in service activities such as committee service, student advising, and building industry relationships
• Contribute to maintaining the excellence of the University and promoting student success

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field
• Record of research and scholarly activities in biomechanics
• Demonstrated evidence of promoting the well-being and advancement of students, colleagues, and the department
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to equitable student-centered learning and teaching
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language
• Evidence of (or potential for) high quality teaching and research with students
• Evidence of (or potential for) scholarly productivity
• Ability to work with a diverse population fostering a respectful, collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field

• University teaching experience using face to face, hybrid and online delivery and demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching
