This role is responsible for leading the installation of telecommunications cabling and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. The foreman will oversee technicians and handle complex installations for mission-critical facilities and government projects.
Responsibilities
- Install communications cabling and equipment according to plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards
- Lead the installation of cable from Telecommunications Rooms (TR) to work area outlets (WAO)
- Perform Quality Assurance checks of the team's work to ensure cable installation complies with requirements
- Support complex scopes specific to Healthcare, Government, Higher-Education, Federal Aviation, and Mission Critical industries
- Survey and document existing telecommunications infrastructure including Copper and Fiber Cables, using electronic devices
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot Horizontal Copper (Cat 5, Cat 6)
- Install various types of Low-Voltage Cabling
- Maintain a clean working environment and participate in daily job site cleanup
- Secure company tools and materials daily
Requirements
- ACTIVE TOP SECRET Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- U.S. Citizenship
- High School Diploma OR GED
- BICSI certification, at minimum a BICSI Installer 1 for copper certification
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in related Telecommunications experience specific to the oversight & installation of OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling within diverse construction industries
- Ability to pass basic telecommunications knowledge test
- Hands-on experience & knowledge in the installation of Low-Voltage specialty contracting industries
- Experience and ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Reliable transportation daily to & from the appointed jobsite
- Basic knowledge of operating Hand & Power Tools safely
- Understanding of Installation, Inspection, Terminating, Testing and Troubleshooting of ISP/OSP Telecommunications Systems
- Full set of Tools obtained prior to the first day of employment
- Knowledge & understanding of different color codes & strong familiarity with TIA & EIA Standards
- Ability to label & test Horizonal Cable
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma OR GED
- 8+ years of experience in related Telecommunications specific to the oversight and installation of OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling within diverse construction industries.
Nice to Have
- Experience in telecommunications installation in Federal & Government Facilities, Healthcare/Hospitals, Commercial Buildings & Mission Critical Facilities
