The Warehouse Team Lead supports warehouse operations by assigning work, providing training, ensuring safety, and optimizing efficiency. This role involves coordinating shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and acting as a junior specialist in operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Assign work to warehouse personnel and provide on-the-job training and feedback
- Champion safety awareness and ensure jobs are completed correctly and efficiently
- Assist with scheduling, planning, and organizing work schedules
- Coordinate the unloading of inbound and loading of outbound shipments
- Review, learn, and apply standard operating procedures to maintain inventory controls
- Provide support to the shipping and receiving clerk and team members
- Perform as a material handler as directed by a senior team lead or supervisor
- Perform housekeeping activities and move materials as directed
Requirements
- 1-2 years warehouse or related work experience
- 2 years forklift/material handling skills
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and interpret documents
- Ability to write legibly and have basic math, computer, and data entry skills
- Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance
- Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
- Ability to lead others to complete work requirements
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of warehouse or related work experience, with 2 years of forklift/material handling skills.
