Teacher Assistant - Student Advocate

About This Role

Assist teachers in the conduct of a class by preparing materials, correcting assignments, and providing various other services to support student learning, focusing on students needing additional academic assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with the conduct of a class
• Prepare class materials
• Correct and record assignments
• Provide a wide variety of other services to assist teachers
• Work with students who need additional academic assistance

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience
• The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Equivalent education/experience requirements for a para-professional role.

Nice to Have

• Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer
