Teacher Assistant - Special Education

About This Role

Support special education teachers in implementing student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by providing instructional, management, supervision, personal, assessment, and materials management assistance.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of student IEPs
• Assist teachers with instructional support
• Assist teachers with management and supervision support
• Provide personal support to students
• Assist with assessment support
• Manage and organize materials

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
• Basic knowledge of academic subjects

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. Two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test will be required in the future for TITLE ONE SCHOOLS.

Nice to Have

• District inservice training (required after hiring)
• Substitution or equivalent experience preferred
• Specific skills required for the assignment, student's needs, IEP, and established procedures of the supervising professional
